The Heavy Duty WD also allows the speed limiter to be adjusted for situations when the driver enters a region where the speed limit is less than the limiter’s setting; after leaving the area, the driver can use the device to restore the limiter’s normal setting. The Heavy Duty WD also has the ability to read and erase trouble codes without having to visit an OEM dealer; if the trouble code is related to a major issue, a driver can determine the appropriate course of action. The device can be integrated with GearMaster technology to help the driver keep track of what gear is needed for a particular situation, helping to increase the lifespan of transmissions and synchronizers. The Heavy Duty WD presently works with Cat, Cummins and Detroit Diesel engines, with other engines – including Volvo, Mercedes, Mack, Paccar and Navistar – in development.

The founders of Bully Dog – Michael, Phillip, and Daryl Klassen - were heavily influenced by their father Harold's interest in improving vehicle performance. Several years prior to the company's inception, Harold had experimented with increasing performance on his diesel farm tractor by injecting propane into the engine's combustion chamber. In 1998, Bully Dog's owners took this concept and developed and patented a safe and effective propane injection system to enhance diesel engine performance. These systems were first sold out of their farm shop, but as demand increased, they moved the company to another location and officially organized Bully Dog. Bully Dog's mission was now to be recognized as the leader in the diesel performance industry. With the introduction of electronic components and software to improve performance, they began to research new types of products like intake and exhaust systems to complement their electronic components.
In 2005, the company expanded its range of products to include performance products for gasoline-powered vehicles. Bully Dog is now able to offer a complete performance package.
Bully Dog Technologies, LLC ( 'Bully Dog') warrants that the Product (meaning solely the physical Product or parts contained within the Product kit and excluding any installed or installable software, which is governed by a separate Software License) will be free from defects in material and manufacture for one (1) year from date of purchase by the first purchaser of the Product who puts it into service (the 'Purchaser'), exclusive of Bully Dog distributors, jobbers, and dealers. This Warranty extends only to the Purchaser and not to any subsequent purchasers or users of the Product. This Warranty may not be transferred in whole or part.
